What some Pastors say:
- A senior pastor who had studied at an excellent evangelical theological college overseas, where he would have been treated to the finest of teaching on Salvation by Faith Alone, nevertheless said that Christ's death covers you only until the time you last repented!
- One day, in the far west of Tanzania, John sat down after preaching on Romans 6:23, explaining that, to believers, eternal life is a gift and not wages. The pastor then stood and told the people (roughly 700) that, no, you get eternal life "through sweating for it"! The people cheered and clapped.
- A journey of 2000+ kilometers away from there, a pastor of another denomination, after hearing John on Romans 6:23, more politely tried to help his flock. Referring to John, he said, "You realize, of course, he struggles a bit with his Swahili. What he meant to say was, 'The wages of sin is death.' "
