Cornish Gold Miner's Hut ...

Authentic Cornish Gold Miner's Hut erected circa 1867 from local stone and mud mortar. This is the only known surviving complete miner's stone and mud hut on the Fryers Creek gold field. Cornish miners were predominant on the Fryers Creek gold fields and finally they operated the deep lead mines. The Herons Reef Historic Gold Diggings site also has the ruins of other miners' huts which were built and occupied by both European and Chinese miners.
