Inclined Shaft Mining ...

This Inclined Shaft adit leads down into the ground at about 10 degrees, following a gold bearing quartz seam. The shaft opens up inside, past the rock fall at the entrace, and goes 100s of meters into the ground, with several side tunnels leading off the main shaft. It is believed that this shaft connects up with the main vertical shaft of the Royal Saxon Deap Lead Mine. This shaft is not currently open for visitors to enter as it is not safe.
