Surface Area : Volume Ratios and Dehydration

Next: Modelling the Human Body

Infants can dehydrate in hot weather very quickly, whereas adults can go without water for much longer periods. In order to find out why, this project calculates the surface area to volume ratio of an adult and of an infant and then compares the results in order to link this information to the rate of dehydration.
